Lesson one of travelling in Australia: regardless of whether it looks cloudy when you go out, always put on sun cream. Day two started with some slightly rouge faces and panda eyes. We went up the Sydney Tower Eye which has stunning panoramic views across the city and the harbour. This satisfied our “ascendaphilia” (obsession of climbing to the highest point of everywhere we visit). You could see the Blue Mountains to the West and the Pacific Ocean to the East with views stretching for 80km. We took the ferry to Manly at the mouth of the Harbour and went to the beach. Today we went to Bondi Beach and watched the surfers. We did a 6km cliff top walk from Bondi Beach to Coogee with beautiful coastal views and saw lots of wild parrots. Tomorrow we will pick up our camper van and head out over the Harbour Bridge to start our trip up the East Coast towards Cairns.
